Tree Circles CMYK is a mixed media exploration of anamorphic perspective and resource use. The images in this project are emphatically non-virtual – each circle of colour exists in the forests – but have been designed and executed to have the appearance of having being digitally created. Details in the 40x50 inch prints (Traditional C-prints) reveal the trees in the forest were in fact painted. Conceptually I am interested in how this project allows me to explore perspective and authenticity in a physical, non digital, geographical sense. I’m using paint on the trees to bring a 2 dimensional form into existence in the forest. It is the photographs of each painted tree scene that complete each individual work.
